  • Suggestion For Swagman XTC2 Bike Rack With Threaded Hitch Pin Not Long Enough To Secure With Clip
  • I do see where you got the Swagman XTC2 Bike Rack # S64670 and Threaded Hitch Pin # P5902 from us in the past. That pin is designed to fit most 2" receivers as well but there are some vehicles where the hitch is slightly larger and it will not clip properly. We do have the Locking Hitch Pin # S64029 which has a much larger 4-3/8" span so you know it will fit your receiver. The pin you have only has a 2-7/8" span.

  • Troubleshooting Curt Round Spring Back Stuck In Weight Distribution Head
  • To remove the round bars on your Curt Weight Distribution Hitch you will need to slightly lift up on the spring bar to remove the clip included in the Curt retainer Clips # 17109 and then pull out on the retaining pin on the hitch head. Now if the spring bars were not greased regularly it is possible they may have a bit of rust and corrosion holding them in and you may need to have another person pull down on the bar while you are pulling out on the retaining pin. When reinstalling the...

  • Replacing A Broken Hitch Pin Bolt On The Swagman XC2 Bike Rack for 2 bikes
  • I do have a solution for you. The Replacement Threaded Hitch Pin and Clip for 1-1/4" Shanks on Swagman Bike Carriers, part # P5902, is the replacement bolt you need. The Locking Anti-Rattle, Threaded Hitch Pin for Swagman Hitch Racks, part # S64029, is also a replacement bolt for this rack. This option also comes with a lock instead of the clip. I did some research and your Swagman XC2 Bike Rack for 2 bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount, part # S64650, should still be under warranty....

  • Removing A Curt A20 Hitch From The Bed Rails
  • The legs of the Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Dual Jaw - 20,000lbs Item # C16140 have a simple pin and clip to attach to the bed rails. If the clips have been pulled and the pins are too tight to get out I recommend using some WD40 and trying to work them side to side to loosen them up and then trying to pull them out. If you used a different brand base rail system than Curt that may be the cause of the bind and I recommend switching to the correct Curt branded base rail for your vehicle.

  • Why is My Slider Stuck on my Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with Square Tube Slider - 16,000 lbs?
  • I talked to my contact at Reese and he said that most likely the problem is the direction the pull pins on your Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with Square Tube Slider - 16,000 lbs, part # RP30051, are installed. He said to check and make sure that the clip on the pull pins are on the outside of the rails, and that if they are installed with the clips on the inside of the rails, that will cause the slider to stop operating. He also said to check the rails for any debris that might be obstructing...

  • Thule EasyFold XT Will Not Remove From The Trailer Hitch Receiver
  • If you were able to release the clip pin and turn the locking wheel all the way out to release the tension then the Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount # TH903202 should be able to slide out of your hitch receiver fairly easily. It may take some wiggling and pulling as there could be some corrosion or build-up inside the receiver, but there shouldn't be anything on the bike rack preventing removal as long as the clip is released and the...

  • Round Weight Distribution Bar Will Not Release from Head
  • It sounds like that one bar is bound up a little. You may need to sort of lift it up and down to get it unstuck. Or you may need to take the little clip off and pull out the pin that keeps the bar in the head. Who is the manufacturer of the system you have? I can check to see if there are any known issues and remedies for this particular issue.

  • Bike Racks Loose Fit in Receiver Fixed with Anti-Rattle Device
  • The tolerances between a bike rack and hitch are not very close and frequently causes rattle in transit. As long as the rack is inserted fully, and a hitch pin with clip installed, you need not to worry about the bike rack coming off. However if your rack and bikes wobble a lot this could eventually cause damage to the rack or the bikes. There are solutions for this issue. I would check your bike rack and see if it has an anti-rattle device built into it. It usually looks like a large...

  • Troubeshooting Uneven Tension on Curt Weight Distribution System # 17302
  • I spoke with my contact at Curt and he said a couple of things could cause the uneven tension on your Curt weight distribution system # 17302. First make sure you are on even ground when you set up your system and not on an incline or that your trailer is crooked. Next, make sure you have the same number of links in on both sides of the system, with a minimum of five links. You can test the tension in the system by taking the chains off your system an d lifting the bars until you feel...

  • Does MORryde Cushioned 5th Wheel Pin Box Have a Break-In Period
  • Did you have a good ride quality with the Rota-Flex and were just hoping that the MORryde Cushioned 5th Wheel Pin Box # MR44HR would be a lot better, or was the ride quality not great with the Rota-Flex and the MORryde is just as bad? There isn't a break-in time for the pin box (or any pin box that I know of for that matter) but MORryde does have some troubleshooting tips like making sure the rubber compression bumpers are in place and checking that the trailer brakes have a slight drag...

  • Troubleshooting a Misswired Prodigy P2 Brake Controller on a 2007 Chevy Silverado Classic Body
  • Actually for your 2007 Chevy Silverado Classic you would want a Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter # 3015-P. The difference between the 3025-P and the 3015-P is the pin locations of the wires on the orange connector. The reason for this is because the orange connector on 3025-P is wired to work on most GM vehicles from 1999-2002 whereas newer GM vehicles have the same connector, just wired differently. You will need to move the red wire on the orange connector to a different pin location...

  • Tekonsha Trailer Brake Wire Harness, # 3025-P, Recommendation for 2000 Chevy Truck
  • The difference between the 3025-P and the 3015-P is the pin locations of the wires on the orange connector. The reason for this is because the orange connector on 3025-P is wired to work on most GM vehicles from 1999-2002, such as your 2000 Chevy Pickup. The 3015-P is wired to work on most GM vehicles from 2003-2006. The orange connector on both harnesses are the same, but the pin locations for the different wires are different. It sounds like you have 3015-P and the wires are not making...

  • No Turn or Brake Signals on Trailer on a Jeep Liberty with Tow Ready Harness 118524
  • The first thing to do is disconnect the trailer from the Liberty. Then using a circuit tester, like part # PTW2993, test each pin of the 4-Way. Clip the alligator clip of the circuit tester to the exposed post, the ground wire. Check each pin with the probe. The brown wire should be running lights. Yellow should be left brake and turn, and green should have the same functions but for the right side. If these functions all work, then the problem is on the trailer. If not, then the problem...

  • Electrical Plug on Back of CIPA Rearview Mirror Keeps Falling Out
  • The wide connector that plugs into the back of CIPA rearview mirror # CM36400 is supposed to clip and lock into place. If you are pushing it in all the way and it still falls out then there is either a problem with the little clip that holds it in or on the mirror housing itself. The connector is specific to the mirror so you wouldn't be able to find a replacement anywhere. If it was like this from the start it might be something that is covered under the 1-year limited warranty. If you...

  • Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Installed on 2013 Ram Feeding Back Into Vehicle
  • I have spoken with my contact at Tekonsha, and he tells me that is sounds as if your wiring adapter is not pinned out correctly. Some of the Ford Super Duty trucks and Ram models use the same plug, but the wires are pinned out differently. Take a look at the photo I have provided, to ensure that your plug is wired correctly. If you find that the connector is pinned improperly, you can either use a small screwdriver to release the clips holding the wires into place and re pin the connector...

  • Troubleshooting 3035-P Connector Doesn't Power Brake Controller When Installed in a 1998 Ford F-250
  • It sounds like the pin out for your # 3035-P may be off. You may actually have a different harness that uses the same connector, but has a different pin out on the side that installs on the vehicle. You will want to verify that the pin out of your connector matches what is in the picture I attached. If yours is different you can use a paper clip to release the wires from the connector so that you can move them where they belong.

  • Hopkins Endurance HM54FR Tabs Will Not Engage Into Bed Side Causing Connector To Fall Out
  • It sounds like the hole in the bed of your 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 has to much bed liner material on the hole for the Hopkins Endurance 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness # HM54FR. This would cause the connector to not push in far enough for the clips to seat into the sides of the steel and hold the connector in place. You may need to sand down the excess bed liner material to get the connector clips to fully engage when you press it in.
